Who gets the Glory? God or us?

Life should not be all about us. It's about God and giving Him all the Glory.

My Birthday Party and Portland OR.

Ok, so here's the deal. I'm in Portland OR with my mom and grandparents (by God's good grace we all made it safely). I drove up here today with my mom, uncle Kenny, and his son (my cousin) Kolten. It wasn't a lot of fun but it was all right.

Just before I wrote this post I got to see my uncle Troy (who lives in WA) and Mr. Black (a friend who also lives in WA) with his son! It was neat!

I had a really great meal (dinner)! Steak and Veggies!

I also had my Birthday Party this week! It was wonderful! Probably the best one ever! Ha. No really it was great. We played tennis and ran around the park over all the slides, swings, monkey bars, etc... Some of the presents were... "Essential truths to the Christian Faith" by R.C. Sproul, a couple music books, a leather day timer, and an awesome camera which I've been using all day, all yesterday, and all day the day before that day.

Oh yes, most importantly was the names of the people who gave me the presents. The R.C. Sproul book was from uncle Kenny, the music books were by the rest of the Anderson family, and the camera was by my fantastic Grandparents!

Well, I gotta get to BED now!
Nighty Night!

The Fish Hatchery

Well... you can get as much info as you want on any of these other blogs http://strummingkaila.blogspot.com/2007/08/fish-hatchery-field-trip.html
or you could just hear what I have to say about. (No obligations).

So, I liked it BECAUSE -
It was a lot of fun being around all my cousins (well most of them, because some live in WA)!
Another reason is because I learned a lot!
And, because I got to see more of God's creation & how majestic is His Name.
And one other thing. And that was seeing all their stuffed animals inside their small building which contained all the fish eggs. By the way, just try and guess how many eggs they had! One word will sum it up. Alot!

Different stages of a fishes life.

Guess what kind of animal the little, I mean middle, one is.

Here we have an osprey.

Here is a cougar. Pretty cool.

But best of ALL...

A rattlesnake!

After we saw all the fish we went inside a huge freezer to cool off (it was where they kept all of the fish food). It was very cool.

Here's a dead fish.

Altogether, it was alot of fun!

I sure hope that you can come next time!

Celebrate!

Yes, Celebrate! I am pretty sure that I get to go to Portland OR. Why? Well because I get to that's why. Oh, perhaps you mean what am I going to. Well... it's the second biggest meeting in my parents business. Mannaquest! And I know that it will be a lot of fun!
So, that's the latest news. Okay? Okay then. Farewell. Have a good night's rest.

Dr. Greg Bahnsen

I have been listening to Dr. Greg L. Bahnsen lately as well as reading his book titled "Pushing the Antithesis" which Uncle Kenny told me to get a while back and read. He probably (most definitely) likes Dr. Greg Bahnsen just as much, if not more, than I do. Today I've been listening to Dr. Bahnsen's debate with Dr. Gordon Stein (an atheist) over "Atheism vs. Theism". I'm listening to it right now actually. I'm just finishing it up even though it is pretty late. It's so phenomenally awesome! Dr. Bahnsen uses apologetics so well! I hope that you can listen to it someday soon! If I see you again then maybe I can give you a copy. Well... maybe.

A dead bird and some other pictures.

This is an unlucky bird that I found. What happened was that I was walking along side my Grandpa outside when something fluttering on the ground caught our gaze. We looked down only to find that a small helpless bird was flapping its wings for the last time. "Sniffle". We stared at the small creature a moment and then it just lay there... motionless. "Sneeze". I picked it up and began walking towards the house. I came in only to find that every one's eye's were suddenly on me (well, my hand anyways). I told them the tragic story and then took a couple pictures for you all to see. Realizing that my mother was waiting for me to come inside so that we could begin school I gave it to the cats to feast on (yes, it is a sad story). They were looking thin and since the bird was not much value for anything else I thought the cats could make some use of it in some way. (I never could find it again).

And so ends the tragic story of the bird that lost its life today. "Sniffle".

Poor Bird."Sniffle"
Here's a picture of the whole garden. My mom wanted me to show how big it was altogether.I had to take two pictures because I couldn't fit it all in one.
I posted this picture of these strawberries on my last post but they looked so good that I thought I'd share it one last time. They look so delicious! Don't they?
An apple that I am looking forward to eating. (Some day).

Hey Alexa, look at this picture! It's not much competition to your fantastic pictures but it is fairly descent.
A picture of one of our many cats. Could be target practice some day.

(Although, we have had her for about 3 years now so it'll probably never happen so there's really nothing to worry about). Ok? Ok.More flowers.
A little blurry.

So wherever you are...
Good morning! Good evening! Good afternoon! And Goodnight!

Taking Dominion in Gardening. I Love it!

Gardening! Here's something worth posting! You know, I kept seeing Kolten's Blog with his fantastic garden pictures and decided that maybe I should take a few pictures of our garden. (I'm not a great photographer though so don't get your hopes up on that part).

Here we have chili peppers. They're very Hot! Careful now.

Tomato togetherness.

This tomato seems to have grown a face. Ha ha.

Here's another tomato. But it's a little different color.

Cherry tomatoes. I love 'em.
They're almost the same size of the plums (beneath).

Plums. Got thousands of 'em.

Here's a sunflower and a bee. Both are getting lots of sun. Don't you agree? :)

Do you like strawberries! I know some of you do!

Raspberries! Best fruit in the world! No kidding. Deeelicious!

Grapes. Yeah. Oh well.

What?

And of course, a big Pumpkin! (Not for eating though). Just for show.

Let me know how your garden's doing too!
Goodbye for now!

Yard Work, Grandparents, and little cousin Noah.

I've been doing a lot of yard work these past couple days. On Monday I mowed the yard. It was very dusty. Today I weed eated and trimmed a couple trees. The problem is that I did mess up pretty bad on one of them and that I don't know what my Grandparents will say. Oh yeah, tomorrow our Grandparents are coming home. Yea! I hope they like the yard and all. Well, I'll find out tomorrow. Goodbye!

Oh, I almost forgot about little cousin Noah! Yesterday I got to see Him for the first time! He's so cute. Now I wish that I could have another little brother too. Jonathan is little I guess, but... he's not THAT small anymore (He's gained a few pounds since birth). I sure hope I can see Noah again soon, very soon.
That's all for now! So long everybody!

At the park.

Last night we watched the Goldman's play at the park here in Central Point. They did a superb job! It was a lot of Fun! It was fun because after they performed we got to watch a movie.

Here's my sister Abigail with her cousin Mailee playing chess (well... beginning to). We all played many games of chess that night (with my chess board and my cousin Collin's chessboard). Here is mine below. Here is my brother Devin and cousin Ellie playing chess. Chess is probably the number one game that many of us play now (for me at least). I'll have to play YOU some time.

Now here's what a REAL smile looks like!

Yeah! My cousin William will show ya how it's done! Me and my cousin Kaila were having quite the Theological discussion, and I just had to take a quick pic, although Kaila might not be to thrilled about this particular one.

Bottom Line: I had quite a pleasant time and I wish you could of been there too!

Goodnight everyone! I'll be sleeping now. Zzzz, Zzzz, Zzzz

The Tongue

I was reading the book of James today and came across Chapter 3 where he was teaching about the tongue and so I thought I'd share some of it with you, seeing as I needed something to post about anyway and that this would be something worth reading.

He begins (in Vs.1) by saying that teachers should be aware of what they teach because they will be judged with greater strictness than others. Why? Because trusting students will listen and if taught something which is contrary to Scripture will make wrong descisions, therefore the teacher is held accountable. Although this is a serious judgement it keeps teachers aware of what they say. Why do you think the Pharisees and Saddusees came against Jesus so harshly? Because He was teaching the Truth and it clearly showed that all of their teachings were false. James then goes on (in Vs.2) to say that if we take control over our tongues then we will be able to bridle our whole body just as "...we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well"(Vs.3). Then in Vs.4 he tells us about the ships and how they are guided by such a small rudder whereby the pilot can easily direct the entire ship. (Vs.5) "so also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things". And he goes on all the way up to Vs.12 on how the tongue is a fire and a world of unrighteousness and that it cannot be tamed by mankind and how the same mouth which blesses our Lord curses our neighbor who is made in the image of God and that this should not be so. Only blessings should come out of our mouths for that is why God gave us tongues, is it not? We must begin to think about what we are going to say and if it is worth saying at all.

Since we were talking about tongue's I just thought I'd put a few tongue twisters in too!

1. If you understand, say "understand". If you don't understand, say "don't understand". But if you understand and say "don't understand". How do I understand that you understand? Understand!

2. I wish to wish the wish you wish to wish, but if you wish the wish the witch wishes, then I won't wish the wish you wish to wish.

3. Sounding by sound is a sound method of sounding sounds.

4. I thought a thought. But the thought I thought wasn't the thought I thought I thought. If the thought I thought I thought had been the thought I thought, I wouldn't have thought so much.

Goodbye for now and God Bless! -David

August!

Yes! It's August! Is that good or bad? Both. It's all how ya look at it you see. It could be good in that "Speech Club" is coming. And... it could be good in that it's probably going to be the hottest and most scorching month in all of Summer which is great for swimming you see (sorry if you don't have a pool). It could be bad when thinking that 2007 is coming to an end. But then just switch it full circle right back to the good and think to yourself, "Wow! I sure have grown in so many area's this past year and achieved so much with God!" Yes, God. A loving an awesome God!

That's what I've been thinking lately. I've been thinking, "why can't I get anything done! I only posted on my blog once last month! (Sorry). People probably think there's nothin' really happening in my life anymore." But than I think to myself, "stay consistent and it won't happen again." So today I've really been at work. Trying to get as much done as possible. It's August now and it really is time to start doing things! Bye for now!

Sorry for feeling so depressed. I promise my next post will be a joyful one Ok? Ok.
