Invisible Piano Performance

This is a lovely performance on an invisible piano by comedy genius Rowan Atkinson (also known as Mr. Bean). The air piano act include two Beethoven sonatas: the first movement from the Pathétique Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op.13 and the third movement of the Moonlight Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 27, No. 2.

Problems...Deal with them!

I am just finishing up a good school day. It was quite busy. I haven't done school for some time now and it is very refreshing to know how hard it is and how ignorant I am. :P...lol

But I think that's what education is for. As long as I keep a teachable spirit, I should learn lots of wonderful things that I can use now or later in my life if I choose to. There sure is a LOT of knowledge in this world. I hope to continue learning for the rest of my life.

I want to make a difference in the world. Do you? Well it starts with family. If I have a terrible relationship with my family, it is going to be very difficult trying to be happy elsewhere. No matter where I go, I can't escape my problems. They just keep coming up in my life. Although, I think it's really how we deal with the problems in our lives that define our character. If we run away from them, they aren't going to just vanish. We need to face them and respond in a biblical way; the way that God would have us respond.

Jr. Speech Tournament Again!

Tomorrow is the Jr. Speech Tournament for children who are 11 and under. It's going to be very fun. Older children from age 12-18 will be judging them. I'm sure the day will turn out just grand. I think this is our 4rth Jr. tournament. Each one gets better than the last. I hope to see some of you there. :)

Blog once forgotten...

Yes. I have officially forgotten my blog for some time now. I'm going to try and make it up to my blog by posting on it every day now. It will be glad to know I still care about it. In fact, here's a short poem that I will dedicate to my blog:

Oh sweet & precious blog!
Of mine so long yet so dear.
How wilt I ever truly hog
Another blog so near?

Of joy and of pain have I written on,
Years of service hast thou given.
Now I thank thee once again
For this post to have posted on.

This poem may not satisfy,
The goodness thou hast shown me.
But ever more shalt I be grateful
For a blog to write hello...goodbye.

Dare You To Move Lyrics -
Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everybody's here
Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?

I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before

Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here

Tuesday’s News

I had a piano lesson today and am very excited to continue practicing it. It is such a joy. My Grandma took me (well, drove me) there.

Next week my Great Aunt Ginger and Great Uncle John are coming up from AZ. They are such wonderful people. I can't wait to see them. Hopefully, we'll be able to play tennis with them sometime. Tennis is a very fun game to play; especially with my family. I expect we will do lots with them and have a really great time. I better keep you all updated with what's happening.

The other day, our family went to the Sleadd's house and played on their zip line. After that we walked around in their pool for a while. You see, they didn't have much water in it then. But now it's probably filled up pretty good and high. Pools are usually fairly nice in the summer.

Devin and me are currently working on the classic skit, "Who's On First," and will perform it in about a month from now. It's actually quite thrilling to practice it with Devin because he's so funny. In any case, after we perform it, I want to put it on this blog. So be sure to remind me later.

Alright, enjoy this beautiful day that God has given us.

On Words...

"Don’t use words too big for the subject. Don’t say “infinitely” when you mean “very”; otherwise you’ll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite."

Questioning Ourselves - Movies?

Why are we so quick to tell others about the latest movie we've seen and yet hardly ever tell them about the latest scripture that we've come across?

Don't Forget to Live -

> First I was dying to finish high school and start college.
> And then I was dying to finish college and start working.
> And then I was dying to marry and have children.
> And then I was dying for my children to grow old enough for school so I could return to work.
> And then I was dying to retire.
> And now, I am dying... and suddenly I realize I forgot to live.

Blog Posts

I am not really sure what to post about anymore. I know I have stuff to talk about but I just can't seem to get my finger on it. Should I talk about theology, music, books, school, people, facts and figures, animals, family, movies, history, rubix cube, toys, technology, the world in general....?

I guess I'll just start looking for things to post about in my daily life. Yes! That is what I shall do. God has blessed me with so much and I know I can share with you what He has done for me. I want to write more posts that are meaningful and not just silly. Alright, take care. Be sure to look for some good posts in the near future.

Had A Great Piano Lesson....

Today I had a piano lesson. (It wasn't on a white baby grand like in the picture though. It was a black grand piano that I played on.)

It was the best lesson that I had probably ever had. I learned sooo much. My teacher is amazing! I am so blessed to have Lionel as a teacher. I expect to go very far with him.

By the way, the more I practice, the more I want to practice. It may seem weird but it's very true.

Alright. Have a great day everyone. (That includes all of you piano players too) :)

Good Morning...or...Good Evening?

It's 1:00 AM as I post this. I am going to sleep now. (Do I sound like Victoria E. or what?)

You probably don't care that I am very tired. It's my fault really. I should get up EARLY and go to bed EARLY. (If you know what mean)

So tomorrow I'll get up early and have a full day. After all, today is all that we have. We can't be sure of tomorrow and yesterday is behind us. Keep this in mind. Don't push stuff aside that you can accomplish today. We feel proud of ourselves and have more self esteem when we finish what we've started.

This past week, I have been faithfully reading my Bible every morning. It has been so good for me. I would encourage you to do the same.

Well I better hit the hay...Nighty-Night..

:) In Christ,

Where did we come from?

A little girl asked her mother: 'How did the human race appear?'
Her mother answered: 'God made Adam and Eve; they had children; and so was all mankind made.'

Two days later the girl asked her father the same question. Her father answered: 'Many years ago there were monkeys from which the human race evolved.'

The confused girl returned to her mother and said, 'Mum, how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Dad said they developed from monkeys?'

Her mother answered, 'Well, Dear, it is very simple. I told you about my side of the family, and your father told you about his.'

"There's your will and God's will. Which do you think is more powerful? Whatever you choose, you can never get outside of His choice because His will is much bigger than your will and you need to thank God for that because you wouldn't choose what is the best thing for your life. Only He would do that!"

"Prayer should be the breadth of our breathing, the thought of our thinking, the soul of our feeling, and the life of our living, the sound of our hearing, the growth of our growing. Prayer in its magnitude is length without end, width without bounds, height without top, and depth without bottom. Illimitable in its breadth, exhaustless in height, fathomless in depths and infinite in extension."

And Kolten Anderson! Happy Birthday buddy! There's the face we all know, right? He just brings happiness with him wherever he goes. Kolten, you are great at playing chess, playing the Hammer Dulcimer (like no one's business), hunting, fishing?, camping, paintball, ultimate Frisbee, football, basketball, your hilarious humor (your dad also affirms this), and lots more! I hope you have a great 15th birthday! LOVE YOU LOTS, and wishing you many more years of...um...LIFE. :)

My Love/Hate Relationship with Running

Today I ran four miles to Rays food store just down the road. Okay, so I didn't run ALL the way. I walked about half. After getting back, I thought I was pooped and just Couldn't POSSIBLY RUN ANYMORE...

.......apparently NOT!

Devin wanted to run as well. I was thinking quite Crazily.
I said, "Sure, why don't we just run out to the Goldman's house. (The Goldman's house from ours: about 5 MILES. But it was 5 miles there! We also had to run back.)

After we arrived at their house, I was exhausted! But I had to run back...

To cut a LONG STORY short, I hate running. But that's not all. I brought along my mother's iPod and it was so wonderful listening to great PRAISE MUSIC WHILE RUNNING.
I just gave glory to God while I was sweating and panting like a St. Bernard doggy. I also know that running is great exercise for the body. But it sure is hard. :)

There you have it. I now have a concrete love/hate relationship with running.

P.S. Running distance: About 14 MILES. I'M POOPED. BUT HAPPY I FINISHED IT.

God Bless You All.

In Christ,
~David

"My sheep hear my voice..."

"So the Jews gathered around Him and said to Him, "How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly." Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me, but you do not believe because you are not part of my flock. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one."

Yes, it is true. That time of year has come. It is when we remember a man who had a large impact upon history. St. Patrick. The man who went to Ireland to preach the Gospel. He was truly a man of God. May we be more like him. Have a wonderful night. God Bless.

Death Comes Unexpectedly

Recently I've been thinking about death. I know, it seems weird. With the loss of my little brother, Christian, I've thought a lot about it. Death comes unexpectedly. Only God knows when people will die and how long they have to live. But it is our duty to glorify God in our daily lives. "Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." (1 Corinthians 10:31)

My uncle Kenny often says, "10 out of 10 people die" and, although it's somewhat comical, it's also very true. We'll all die. We were born into sin and because of sin there is death. That is the consequences. Death. We shouldn't be surprised when death comes. God said it would. But this life is not all that we have. Peter speaks of a living hope in 1 Peter. We have a living hope. My uncle Kenny has been preaching expository sermons and has been going through 1 Peter. Every week I am learning so much more about 1 Peter. If you feel God has treated you unfairly, possibly with suffering, read 1 Peter. Peter is writing to the early church which was undergoing persecution. He encourages them to look forward to a living hope.

And as we learn in Scripture, life is but a vapor. It comes quickly and goes quickly. Life is precious. Let us not take it for granted.

And even when death does come, we should thank God for His blessings, and praise Him for all the life around us. I'm not saying don't mourn. We should grieve for those who die. But we must also remember to thank God for life.

Random Stuff for A Random Post

People often say, "You crack me up. ha ha." And yet they fail to mention what bone cracked.

I really want to read a good book on procrastination but can't seem to get to it.

Don't get VCR and CPR confused because when someone's having a heart attack, the last thing they want is you handing them an appliance.

I bought some powdered water and didn't really know what to add.

Would people think you weird if your name was Fuzzy Goat?

If you went bowling would you use your ice cream bowl or your cereal bowl to win the game?

The Astronaut asks a man arrogantly, "How many times have you walked on the moon?" The man replies, "But I'm crippled."

How I love the Incarnation

Recently, as many of you may know, I (along with some cousins of mine) have been reading On the Incarnation by St. Athanasius. It has been so refreshing. When I begin thinking about all that God did on our behalf so that we might no longer be under the dominion of death, but have life, I stand amazed. We don't deserve it at all. We spat in His face and yet He was laying down His life for us. The Word made flesh was paying the price for our sins (John 1:1).

I like it the way Athanasius puts it: "For by the sacrifice of His own body He did two things: He put an end to the law of death which barred our way; and He made a new beginning of life for us, by giving us the hope of resurrection. By man death has gained its power over men; by the Word made Man death has been destroyed and life raised up anew." Chapter II, pg.37

God paid the penalty. He let us live. And He conquered death with the cross. God is immortal and cannot die and this is why He put Himself into a human body which was capable of death. The Word of the Father, the Son of God, died so that we might live for all eternity.

It blows me away. I continually ask myself, "Why? Why God? Why do this for me?" My only answer is that He did it out of His love for us. May we forever praise Him. Thank God for the Incarnation of Jesus Christ.

Yeah, I switched from the big 4x6 box to the sleek and small (not to mention safe?) 3x5 box. I want to start writing and revising cards real soon.

And hey! I know it's a pink color...but really, who cares? It's what's inside the box that matters. Right? Okay.

Well I guess that's about all I've got to say. Have a good night everyone. I'm gonna hit the hay.

St. Athanasius

"For it is a fact that the more unbelievers pour scorn on Him, so much the more does He make His Godhead evident. The things that they, as men, rule out as impossible, He plainly shows to be possible; that which they deride as unfitting, His goodness makes most fit; and things which these wiseacres laugh at as "human" He by His inherent might declares divine. Thus by what seems His utter poverty and weakness on the cross He overturns the pomp and parade of idols, and quietly and hiddenly wins over the mockers and unbelievers to recognize Him as God."
