Jr. Speech Tournament Again!

Tomorrow is the Jr. Speech Tournament for children who are 11 and under. It's going to be very fun. Older children from age 12-18 will be judging them. I'm sure the day will turn out just grand. I think this is our 4rth Jr. tournament. Each one gets better than the last. I hope to see some of you there. :)

My Love/Hate Relationship with Running

Today I ran four miles to Rays food store just down the road. Okay, so I didn't run ALL the way. I walked about half. After getting back, I thought I was pooped and just Couldn't POSSIBLY RUN ANYMORE...

.......apparently NOT!

Devin wanted to run as well. I was thinking quite Crazily.
I said, "Sure, why don't we just run out to the Goldman's house. (The Goldman's house from ours: about 5 MILES. But it was 5 miles there! We also had to run back.)

After we arrived at their house, I was exhausted! But I had to run back...

To cut a LONG STORY short, I hate running. But that's not all. I brought along my mother's iPod and it was so wonderful listening to great PRAISE MUSIC WHILE RUNNING.
I just gave glory to God while I was sweating and panting like a St. Bernard doggy. I also know that running is great exercise for the body. But it sure is hard. :)

There you have it. I now have a concrete love/hate relationship with running.

P.S. Running distance: About 14 MILES. I'M POOPED. BUT HAPPY I FINISHED IT.

God Bless You All.

In Christ,
~David

Singing Class

Tonight we went to singing lessons at our Church. Mrs. Wulff taught us so much stuff! What did we do? We went over a song for our next performance as a choir. It went well. (Of course, we didn't have the whole choir and that was a bummer.) But, like I said, it went well.

We then did songs acapella. And that was solo. Scary! But we all did okay. And I am definitely looking forward to next week. You all have a great night!

Dear You...

This is something I made up a while back. It's supposed to be funny. So laugh a lot! Ha ha. It's called "Dear You." Maybe I'll write a song about it some day. The original paper is below.

Dear You,
I am entirely indifferent as to what you may suppose of this short epistle that I have undertaken in such considerable haste. You are the primary purpose of this engagement at present. Time does not allow me to fully express the intentions of my distressed being but I hope to convey one final and substantial thought. In this proposition, I ask that you fulfill a small favor for my ecstasy and happiness. Go ahead and give a hug to a friend, buddy, or possibly an old chum of yours, sometime presently. I sincerely thank you from the very bottom of my soul and pray that you finish your homework and whatever else is dear to you after having achieved the chore aforementioned. Have a truly terrific and solely stupendous day!
Yours Alone,
Me

Stuff....

Speech club was great. I did an apologetic card for Mr. McMurray and he really helped me understand what I probably should do and say when giving one. I also did impromptu while I was there. That was fun. Victoria is an awesome coach. Then, outside, I did a duo with my sister, Emma. We've changed it a bit since then but I think it's for the better. Aaron really helped with it. You're such a great guy, Aaron! Thanks a lot!

I can't wait till next week. That's the BIG speech & debate tournament for Medford. It's going to be wonderful. I hope I'll see many of you all there. If not, then some other time.
Oh, and I also got a haircut. It's a little shorter than the hair on my profile picture. So, yeah. Lots of stuff is happening and I actually have (or get) to go to singing class tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to carry a tune soon...

Bye Now!

What kind of Instrument is this?

88 keys stand in a row,
Black and white are they.
One thing that's great to know,
Is each one sounds in a quite different way.

True, all make music together,
When played correctly and in proper order.
But one thing is that they work as a team,
Not separate, but united, they sound as a dream.

At one end, a key is high.
Down yonder, another is low.
When put with each other,
Well, music's made & I think you know why.

Don't get stressed as to what it is
I'm sure you really know.
This ain't exactly a very hard quiz,
You just gotta keep guessing to and fro?

The Goldmans at Market...

Yesterday our family went to the market to see the Goldmans play music.
They are one great band! You should see them play some time.

And here is a picture of Jebediah. With Destiny posting so many I had to post one.

Today I did some shootin'!

As you can see, we (grandpa and other friends) were shooting
with a small gun. It is a twenty-two of some sort.
I'm not all that great on guns (as you can see).

Here is what we were targeting. Targets! Ha! That was a funny one.

Tournament Stuff...

Yes I just got back from the Regionals tournament yesterday and I wanted to say that it was a blast and I learned a lot of good stuff! Last night it felt almost like heaven when I climbed back into my own cozy, wonderful, warm, soft, and home-like bed once again. I can't believe it is over and I want to start working on speeches for next year (I'll start now by reading lots of books) so that I can have them in ship-shape order by next season. In conclusion, I had fun, learned lots, gave speeches, and met others who also wanted to glorify God. :)

Oh, and I hope to see y'all at Speech Club tonight!

How are you?

Yes, how are you? I want some honest answers here now. No fake stuff. Just explain how your family is doing and what's the newest, coolest, and neatest thing for YOU.

The Roseburg Tournament Results

I traveled up to Roseburg with Devin & Kolten.
Here is our team. From left to right it's Mitchel Button, Me,
Preston Snyder, Mark Button, Devin, & Kolten.

This is Kolten "at His Best."

Here is Devin playing chess and playing well.

I think we ended up placing third (which isn't too bad because we were up against 7 other teams). Overall it was very fun and I look forward to the next one. Hopefully you will be there too! Bye!

Chess Tournament!

Yes, there is a chess tournament that is going on today and tomorrow which is being held in Roseburg OR and I get to go! It'll be lots of fun! I get to go with my cousin Kolten Anderson and his Dad (my uncle) Kenny Anderson, along with my uncle Steve Goldman and my brother Devin. Oh, and some of the members in the chess club I attend, will also be coming. You see, it's a Team Competition. I just can't wait to get there and start playing some tough competitors ;)

Anyway, if you don't like chess than Join Up Soon! I'm just kiddin'. You don't Have to but if you decided to than grab a chess book or video (at your local library) and begin to see how the pieces move and start playing someone who has been playing longer than you have and ask them for some pointers. (That was a long sentence). So just be humble and ask. That's how I got started. I startd asking my uncle Steve (mentioned above) and gradually became better and better (although I am far from being "the Best"). But really, chess is a very fascinating game and it offers much. I have learned how to become smarter and more logical through it.

One more thing... Tournaments! Yes, tournaments. They are really fun too (especially for those who like to compete). For those of you who go to speech tournamets (including myself), this will be easy to adapt into because it's just like speech only you don't speak. You sit. You play. You win. Or lose. That reminds me... If I lose (which I usually do) than I know I am not "the Best" and there is more competition. It keeps me humble you could say. And if I win... Well... I win.
It's all for the Glory of God!
