Annoying Spittlebugs

We have a problem with spittlebugs. They continue to spit or make this stuff and put it on our plants. I am tired of wiping this (spit) off my hands when checking plants and pulling weeds. If anyone knows of a solution, I'd appreciate the help. Ta ta for now.

The Pitbull and Porcupine

This Pitbull appears to have an encounter with a porcupine.
It seems that he did not give up on the porcupine until it was dead.
It's very amazing to see this kind of endurance.
Pitbulls are quite different from all the other dogs & in many ways.
This is one of them.

The Schedule...

Here it is. One BIG Schedule.
The post before this talks of this picture.

Scheduling?

Okay, so here's the dealio. I woke up today feeling very sore (from running yesterday). So I woke up at about 7:45. That is quite late but don't bother. Anyway, after that I shuffled to breakfast. After I had gorged myself, I discovered my mom staring at a (quite large) schedule. "What's that mom?" I asked casually. "It's our new schedule." she replied. "Oh, right. Well, what do I do first?" "Chores." "Okay."

After I had done my chores, I found myself staring at lots of schoolwork (which I need to finish after this post). However, I did pull through and I am actually almost finished with it all. Although it was a challenge, I am looking forward to Friday (I like challenges I guess) and will post then. That post will be better than this one. But I guess that's just me.

The Goldmans at Market...

Yesterday our family went to the market to see the Goldmans play music.
They are one great band! You should see them play some time.

And here is a picture of Jebediah. With Destiny posting so many I had to post one.

Cool Brothers!

Devin and Me just got out of the hot tub and were playing around with our hair.
Just trying to look cool for the camera and, of course, all of you. Ta ta for now!

New Pieces for the Piano...

Today I got some new pieces to play on the piano.
I enjoy stretching my mind (and fingers, ha ha!) with these difficult pieces.
There is "Golliwog's Cakewalk" by Claude Debussy.

There are also some pieces by Beethoven. The complete
versions of "Rondo A Capriccio" and "Moonlight Sonata."
And last are a couple pieces from Scott Joplin:
"Maple Leaf Rag" and "The Entertainer."
I sure hope I can master all of these. Have a blessed Sabbath.

T.U.L.I.P. - 5 Points of Calvanism

T - Total Depravity

Total depravity refers to the affect of sin and how it reaches our entire body. Sin affects every part of our being-body, soul, mind, will, etc… We are all born in sin, not one part of us is sinless.

U - Unconditional Election

This doctrine means that our election is sovereignly chosen by God. In other words, he did not choose us because we were smart or beautiful or because of all the good, witty, and wonderful works we did but because of His good pleasure. "We chose Him because He first chose us."

L - Limited Atonement

Limited Atonement means that Christ died only for His elect. Christ's atonement was limited in the sense that Christ suffered and died for his people - His elect.

I - Irresistible Grace

Irresistible grace is referring to the inward call of God.The inward call is powerful and effective. It is irresistible in a sense that it achieves it purpose.

P - Perseverance of the Saints

Perseverance of the Saints means that it is possible to be sure of your salvation and that once you are saved you cannot backslide. When destined for the kingdom you will never go to hell. A saying is, "If you've lost it, you never had it. If you have it, you'll never lose it."

I'm back into chess

Since not going to chess club, I haven't been working on chess very often. I sort of took a break from it.
But recently I have been playing games of chess and I can see that my old vigilance is failing.
It has been a struggle over my cousins & siblings just to win a game (if any at all) and so I'm getting my old chess books back out once again.
There is nothing wrong with losing it's just that... I want to improve so that I'll be more of a challenge to others.
Study hard (if you like chess that is) because that's what I'll be doing these next couple weeks.
This isn't to say that I am dropping other stuff.
I will still be doing school and lots of work too.

Is There a God?

Of late, I have been doing the Omnibus curriculum with my 4 cousins and uncle (who teaches and guides us). It has been very time-consuming but I have learned so much through it this year. Anyway, today on the way to school I thought about a question, "What if an unbeliever has never heard of the gospel and dies before ever hearing it? Will God grant that person eternal life? After all, they didn't know did they?" Suddenly I remembered Rom. 1 and read it again. I found myself quite mistaken.

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse." (Rom. 1:18-20)

Let's pause right here. This is clearly saying that men see God's creation and know there is a God. So men know there is a God when they say that there is not one? Yes! They suppress the Truth. This text also says "they are without excuse" which means that they cannot say God doesn't exist or doesn't show himself to them because His creation is all around them! They know but do not acknowledge Him. We see this in the next verse.

"For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened." (Rom. 1:21) It says "they became futile in their thinking." "This world evolved" some will say. How could it have! "The heavens declare the glory of God..." (Ps. 19:1) How can an entire universe with stars, planets, oceans, animals, plants and trees, men and women, and so much more evolve from simply nothing? Well, I'll tell you how. It can't. This world is so intricately designed and so fabulously knit together that it most certainly could NOT have evolved. It doesn't make sense that we, and everything else here, just randomly and suddenly evolved. "Claiming to be wise, they became fools..." (Rom. 1:22)

Unbelievers know their is a God but suppress that truth in all unrighteousness and become fools by this. You simply cannot make sense of anything in this world without an all-sovereign, covenant-keeping, and triune God.

Slow times have come now that speech club is gone...

Slow times have come now that speech club has gone,
And I wonder, "What Shall I do?" at each day's new dawn.
Should I play in the fields with the dogs and such,
Or should I study hard to learn things like...Dutch?
What shall I do without speech club?
Oh, speech club, I miss you terribly so!

Sometimes I wonder while I sit alone in my room,
Is speech club all over and done with so soon?
How could it be that someone like me,
Would like to give speeches with this much glee?
What shall I do without speech club?
Oh, speech club, I miss you terribly so!

Now that this club's year is over,
I find I am picking this Spring's new clover.
'Tis true when I say, "I am now so sad,"
But speech club shall come again and then I'll be glad!
What shall I do without speech club?
Oh, speech club, I miss you terribly so!

I hope you know this is sad but don't take it too seriously. I can live without it. (For a while anyway)

Happy Birthday Dylan!

Dylan,
I just wanted to say that I think you are a really great friend who loves God and everyone else even though we are all not as patient and pleasant to be around sometimes. I have always enjoyed being around you and your brothers and sister. God has placed you in my life and I thank Him that He did because I have learned so much from you. I have learned how to be the oldest by showing patience and kindness to my younger siblings even when I don't feel like it at the moment. You are also a lot of fun to be around! I remember when your mom made that little skit up for you and me with our unicycles. It was a memory I'll never forget. When I'm around you I feel honored. Happy 17th Birthday! God Bless.

I got a haircut.

A couple of days ago I received a haircut from a barber and before he started cutting away we said something like this...

Barber: "So how do you want your hair?"

Me: "Uh, well, I just want you to cut some off around the edges but not as much on top."

Barber: "Right. How do you want your bangs?"

Me: "Oh I don't want them too short either."

Barber: "Okay so you want everything short but not too short. Right?"

Me: "Yeah. I guess so."

Barber: "Alright."

Me: "You know just do whatever you want. I don't care! It will grow back pretty quick anyway. You do what you think is best."

William is 5!!!

Prior to the previous post, I would like to show you another person's birthday. William! William Goldman is in "The Big 5's" now! He sure is growing fast. It seems only yesterday that he was born and now he is 5 YEARS OLD. I enjoy being around William and know that he will use his big happy smile for the Lord in future years to spread the gospel. Happy Birthday William!!!

I also wanted to thank aunt Tami for doing this picture of Will on her blog.

Kaila is 17 and time flies (passes) on...

2 Days ago Kaila had a little birthday party at a pizza place with some friends (and boy, I tell you, that was great pizza!). Many of you may have known this and, possibly, may have even attended. Anyway, many may have NOT known that she is 17 years old! I just learned it when I got there! It astonished me how fast time flies. Well, time, you know, doesn't fly actually, it uh...passes quickly. Gladly, many of us still look quite young even if we are actually older. That's the GOOD side of it. So, in conclusion, Happy Birthday Kaila!

Today I did some shootin'!

As you can see, we (grandpa and other friends) were shooting
with a small gun. It is a twenty-two of some sort.
I'm not all that great on guns (as you can see).

Here is what we were targeting. Targets! Ha! That was a funny one.
